Peer Tutor Job Description 

Peer Tutors provide learning support for selected coursework in which they have demonstrated high academic achievement. General duties include facilitating individual and/or group study sessions, in person or online, attendance at required tutor training sessions and meetings, and assisting other staff when requested. Complete CRLA level I training. 

Required Qualifications

• Must be an actively enrolled USF student
• Must have completed at least one academic semester at USF (12+ credit hours)
• Must maintain a minimum overall GPA of 3.25
• Must have earned a B+ or higher in the course(s) intended to tutor
• Must have a faculty recommendation for courses to be tutored
• Must possess excellent time management skills and be able to juggle own academic responsibilities with work obligations 
• Must have exemplary communication and interpersonal skills
• Must demonstrate commitment to helping peers learn
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion  

Preferred Qualifications:   

• Willingness to make a commitment throughout the entire academic year.
