Field Engineer

Our Field Engineer role is designed for individuals who enjoy solving complex problems, collaborating with others, and seeing a project come to life from the ground up. You'll work alongside experienced project teams, gain hands-on field experience, and develop the technical and leadership skills needed to advance into roles such as Project Manager, Operations Leader, or other leadership positions throughout the company.

As a Field Engineer, you'll serve as the critical link between our office and field operations, ensuring projects are executed accurately, efficiently, and according to plan. You'll provide technical expertise, coordinate with project teams and customers, and help drive successful project execution from preconstruction through completion.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop a strong understanding of mechanical and plumbing systems, including MEP coordination and construction drawings.
• Partner with project managers, superintendents, and field teams to ensure projects are installed according to engineering standards, codes, and design specifications.
• Manage multiple projects while maintaining organization, quality, and attention to detail.
• Identify opportunities to improve designs through value engineering, delivering the best solutions for our customers.
• Establish control points and accurately lay out under-slab, sleeve, and embed locations.
• Identify design conflicts early and collaborate with project teams and other trades to develop practical solutions.
• Monitor project progress, anticipate potential delays, and proactively resolve coordination issues.
• Prepare and manage Requests for Information (RFIs), submittals, equipment schedules, and project documentation.
• Create isometric drawings and installation details to support field crews.
• Verify drainage, water, and gas system sizing to ensure design accuracy.
• Review structural, truss, panel, and shop drawings to identify conflicts before installation begins.
• Participate in BIM coordination meetings and utilize design software to develop project solutions.
• Perform field verification to ensure installations match design intent and communicate any non-conformance.
• Maintain accurate as-built drawings throughout the life of each project.
• Support equipment startup, testing, and project closeout activities.
• Provide weekly project updates and communicate effectively with internal teams, customers, architects, engineers, builders, and trade partners.
