Account Executive – Government

The Account Executive, G (AE) is responsible for managing Government Business (VA) within an assigned Mid Atlantic territory meeting contractual obligations relating to service, visits, etc. as outlined in the national agreement. Primary field point of contact for customer escalation resolution.   

Key Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for ensuring day-to-day customer activities related to pharmaceutical distribution services as outlined by the national contract. Liaison between customers and appropriate McKesson internal departments, support teams, cross business unit collaboration if applicable. Escalation lead.
  • Conduct training (internal & external), education on McKesson technology & applicable programs (i.e. QBR, McKesson Connect, Mobile Manager, CSOS).
  • Customer pre-call planning to include but not limited to report generation, identification of customer initiatives, quarterly business review, industry knowledge
  • Consistent utilization of Customer Relationship Management (CRM) software as outlined by the contractual commitments
  • Build and maintain effective customer relationships, foster and grow relationships with key stakeholders internal (i.e. OPS, Regulatory, etc.) and external (i.e. VISN Chief, etc.)
  • Scheduled travel to onsite customer locations as required by contract
  • Successfully complete all required training
  • Expand working knowledge of healthcare industry
  • Maintain market intelligence on competitor activity
  • Other duties as assigned by VPS (i.e. training, new account implementations, etc.)

Minimum Job Qualifications

  • 2+ years successful customer service and/or account management experience, preferably in hospital, acute care or pharmaceuticals
  • 4-year college degree or equivalent work experience

Education:

  • 4-year college degree or equivalent work experience

Physical Requirements

  • Lifting, standing, etc.) – Lift up to 25 pounds, some physical work will be necessary
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and ability to travel per customer requirements
  • Home office with extensive territory travel (i.e. multiple states) up to 75%
