Project Management and Public Administration Intern

AmeriCorps is seeking an intern to support the Office of Chief Executive Officer in managing multiple cross-agency initiatives to advance the mission of AmeriCorps. The Project Manager Intern will help develop project plans, manage Gantt charts, track deliverables, and help create briefing materials. This is an exciting opportunity to join a fast-paced team in the office of the CEO at a critical time for the agency and the larger national service enterprise. The ideal candidate will excel at managing multiple projects with competing deadlines with a strong attention to detail. Projects will include:
 
Coordinating an Agency Hiring Surge
  • Support the CEO Immediate Office in executing a larger hiring surge, assisting with project management, support recruitment efforts, records management, and scheduling.

Training Development
  • Update onboarding materials for new employees, draft and develop presentations, plan communications on new materials roll out, research best practices for onboarding and engagement of new employees.

Internal Agency Communications
  • Support developing agenda and materials for weekly management meetings.
  • Support the execution of internal all staff calls and town hall meetings.
  • Support and facilitate the development of ongoing strategies to engage all-staff in learning opportunities including coordinating webinar series, annual calendar of events, and other methods to increase transparency and provide opportunities for input on agency-wide initiatives. 

Budget and Financial Tracking
  • Support the Office of CEO in tracking our final expenditures.
  • Revising CEO SharePoint Site
  • Support a comprehensive review and revision of the CEO SharePoint with a focus on records management and knowledge transfer.
 
Successful candidate will be:  
  • Highly skilled verbal and written communicator; able to communicate with internal audiences and external audiences with professionalism and discretion. 
  • Self-starter: able to take a project from concept to completion by defining requirements, creating options for leadership selection, and then producing a final product. Project management experience a plus.  
  • Detail-oriented; able to complete and document a variety of tasks with accuracy and efficiency. 
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point. Experience in SharePoint, OneNote, and Teams desired but not required.
