Intern, Resource Development & Policy

Location: Washington, DC; Option to Work Remotely (only in CO, FL, GA, IL, LA, MA, MD, NE, NY, NC, OH, PA, RI, VA, WA, DC)

Position Summary:

The Resource Development & Policy Intern will support policy and resource development activities. The Intern reports to the Manager, Resource Development & Policy.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare detailed research on advocacy trends
• Prepare detailed research on prospective funders, including governments, foundations, corporations and high net worth individuals
• Prepare detailed research on current fundraising trends, donor profiling and meeting preparation
• Attend relevant global health and policy-related meetings and briefings to share updates with Sabin staff
• Data and relationship management and tracking, primarily through the use of Salesforce 
• Assist with the development of creative, effective global health policy advocacy strategies and tactics to promote Sabin’s U.S. and global policy agenda 
• Conduct research and support the development of key policy materials, including white papers, briefs, memos, reports and opinion pieces for the international community, which advance Sabin’s mission and program goal
• Overall Resource Development & Policy Team operations support as well as support for projects with Communications Team as needed

Requirements:

• Current college student in a related discipline 
• Interest in policy, fundraising, global health or a related field
• Strong written and oral communication skills
• Demonstrated computer proficiency, including Microsoft applications (Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Teams, Word), Adobe Acrobat, Zoom video conferencing and conducting internet searches
• Knowledge of Salesforce.com or similar donor database system preferred 
• Strong organizational skills, ability to process information quickly and work independently
• Detail-oriented and highly flexible
• Analytical and research skills
• Available for 10 hours per week during the Spring 2022 semester
