Employment and Internship Specialist
The St. Petersburg College (SPC) Foundation was recently awarded a grant from Bank of America to launch the Tampa Bay Education to Employment Connection (TBEEC) program, focused on job placement of students near the end of their educational pathway and ready for employment. The initiative will specifically target students of color and those facing financial need.
This positive is primarily responsible for the clerical and data entry functions in support of Employment and/or Internship services at St. Petersburg College. Basic knowledge of applicable laws, regulations, and departmental policies and procedures are required at this level. Incumbents perform non-routine, complex administrative functions requiring the application of department and organizational policies and procedures, and an increased level of responsibility with organizations and individuals internal and external to the College including students and academic processes and information.
Responsibilities may include explaining organizational or departmental policies and procedures to students, faculty, and other staff; prioritizing tasks; scheduling appointments, classes, and/or activities; developing and implementing filing systems; compiling, tracking and reviewing data and reports; attending meetings and taking notes; desktop publishing; preparing, reviewing, revising and distributing documents and correspondence; creating purchase orders; monitoring expenses; and performing basic quantitative and qualitative reviews of data. Incumbents may spend up to 30% of their time on the duties of the lower level. Incumbents may provide direction to student workers and/or part-time staff and may occasionally perform some of the duties of the higher levels.

Requirements:
Education:
High School Diploma or equivalent (GED)
Experience:
Four years clerical or administrative experience.
* An equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job may be acceptable in lieu of those requirements listed above.

Responsibilities:
- Manage database of employment and internship opportunities.
- Facilitate employer account registrations, jobs, and internship opportunities on online job board
- Assign employers to designated Business Relationship Specialists (BRS)
- Monitor and respond to student account requests
- Extract student file from Peoplesoft and import into online job board weekly
- Process Internship Site Agreements with employers
- Process Student Internship Applications
- Assign students to designated BRS
- Collect and document internship and job placement information
- Conduct communication campaigns to targeted audiences to raise awareness of activities and services
- Facilitate internship student class registrations
- Facilitate Internship/Employment Satisfaction Surveys
- Collect and digitize data such as invoices, bills, student/employer information, and budget reports
- Maintain a detailed and organized storage system to ensure data entries are complete and accurate
