The Position:

Position General Summary:

The Curriculum Specialist is responsible for the overall planning, designing, and development of course content and assessments for a specific subject area(s). The Curriculum Specialist is responsible for curriculum innovation, design, and research, as well as ensuring the development and maintenance of the highest quality courses for FLVS and its clients/partners. The Curriculum Specialist assists in reviewing externally produced content and resources, sometimes working with vendors to produce FLVS content. The Curriculum Specialist maintains regular contact with the FDOE, as well as other relevant agencies, regarding standards and pertinent legislation, disseminating information regarding relevant policy changes.


Minimum Requirements:

Education/Licensure/Certification:


Bachelor’s degree; or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience

Valid Florida Professional Teaching Certificate in assigned subject area

Experience:


Three years’ curriculum design, development, and implementation experience; or equivalent combination relevant experience

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSA's):


Knowledge of subject matter, pedagogy, and curriculum design

Knowledge of copyright standards

Ability to meet deadlines and prioritize diverse tasks

Strong verbal and written communication skills

Strong interpersonal, leadership, and motivational skills
