Bachelor's Level Quantitative Analyst

RTI’s Center for Communication and Media Impact has an opening for a bachelor’s-level Quantitative Analyst position.
 
The Center conducts media evaluation research and analysis to support public health focused media campaigns and communications programs. The successful applicant will play a role in the application of a variety of analytic methods in support of projects that evaluate the impact of state and federal multimedia communications campaigns aimed at improving public health. Candidates with excellent quantitative skills are encouraged to apply. Analysts in the Center perform a wide range of tasks, including data management, statistical analysis, social media listening analysis, survey programming, data visualizations, and data dashboards. 
 
This position can be remote telework or based in one of RTI’s regional offices; however, the RTP NC headquarters location is preferred.

Responsibilities:
  • Conduct quantitative analyses on a range of projects for federal, state, and local governmental and non-profit clients
  • Support evaluations of multimedia communications campaigns, behavioral health programs, and community interventions
  • Code, clean, and manage datasets using statistical software such as Stata, Excel, R, SAS, or similar programs
  • Implement statistical methods to perform regression and statistical analyses under the direction of senior staff
  • Prepare data visualizations including tables, dashboards, and charts
  • Write sections of reports for clients, summaries for internal project leaders, and other forms of dissemination
  • Review the communications, public health, economics, and social science literatures to summarize recent findings and methods of the field
  • Compile meeting notes and manage basic project correspondence
  • Work independently to efficiently manage multiple and overlapping timelines

Qualifications:
  • BA/BS in Economics, Statistics, Computer Science or other quantitative health, public policy, or social science field required.
  • A transcript of all college work will be requested.
  • Quantitative research experience or course work in statistics, applied economics/econometrics, data analytics, or other quantitative social science field required.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel is required.
  • Proficiency in Stata, SAS, SPSS, R, or similar statistical package is required; proficiency in other programming software and applications is a plus; an original code sample may be requested.
  • Exemplary oral, written, and inter-personal communication skills; a writing sample will be requested.
  • Ability to manage tasks for multiple project directors simultaneously.
