Sales associate

What I liked

I liked the information that i acquired on a daily basis. It helped me understand more about vehicles and how they work internally. I learned about several different parts, how to diagnose them if they appeared faulty, and how to select the appropriate parts for vehicles depending on the situation.

What I wish was different

I don't wish anything was different. The moment I walked in they gave me a quick explanation of how everything worked and threw me in. If I had any difficulties they would help me and explain.

Advice

Working at Autozone is a great way to learn more about automobiles, and how they function.

Marketing Intern

December 2019 • Memphis, TN

What I liked

I've just started my internship at AutoZone so I have yet to have a full conclusion of my experience. So far I'm enjoying how hands-on the work is and it's pretty cool to see how the creative team work their magic.

What I wish was different

I'm not familiar with anything automotive or even the branding so I am struggling to try to help with ideas on advertisements or social media copy.

Advice

It's fast-paced and a lot is expected of you when it comes to growth at the end of the internship.

Customer Service Representative

May - August 2019 • Dallas, TX

What I liked

I had the opportunity to help people and teach people new things about their cars. I also loved that I got to help people with a subject I love and find fun. Solving problems and finding parts was a fun part of the job because it was a puzzle with a great outcome. Learning new things from those that are already mechanics was always refreshing.

What I wish was different

Pay and scheduling. I was supposed to be part-time but I would work overtime to cover others schedules

Advice

Don't be scared to ask questions. The managers can be stoic but they are very knowledgable and you can learn a lot from them. Don't let people get to you, they are already upset because they have a car they need to work on. We have to be nicer and take some of that weight off of their shoulders.
